Complete your online wellness assessment this week

Don’t forget to complete your online assessment via Wellmark by Dec. 4. You must complete the online assessment in addition to the biometrics screening to receive the wellness incentive (approximately $300 off your Drake health insurance in 2016). Open Enrollment ends Nov. 30

The annual open enrollment period for Drake University benefits ends at 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 30

Medical/Dental/Wellness Benefits
Current medical, dental, and wellness participation will automatically be continued for the 2016 Plan Year. Employees who wish to change their current participation must complete a new enrollment form.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
Employees must complete a new election form each year to participate in the flexible spending plans. Current Health Care FSA participants will be allowed to carry over up to $500 of unused contributions to the 2016 Plan Year.

Enrollment forms must be received in Human Resources no later than 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 30. Enrollment forms are located in the Human Resources Channel’s Forms Library on the Employee Tab in blueView.

Still haven’t completed your biometrics screening?

Faculty and staff on Drake’s health plan can save $300 in 2016 by participating in the Wellness Incentive Program. You simply need to complete a biometrics screening and online wellness assessment this fall.

The deadline to complete your biometrics screening at a participating Hy-Vee store has been extended to Nov. 20. No on-campus biometrics screening appointments remain.

Full details and a list of participating Hy-Vee stores can be found here. You must complete your screening at a Hy-Vee location by Nov. 20. Hy-Vee will submit your screening results to Wellmark, which will automatically update your online assessment.

If you’ve completed your biometrics screening, don’t forget to complete your online assessment via Wellmark by Dec. 4. You must complete both the screening and the online assessment to receive the wellness incentive.

FINAL campus-wide benefits meeting this Wednesday

How do Drake benefits compare? What is Drake’s philosophy when it comes to employee benefit decisions? What changes are planned for this year and beyond?

The answers to these questions, and more, will be addressed in “A Report to Faculty and Staff: The Status of the Drake Medical and Dental Plans,” Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 3 p.m. in the Pomerantz Conference Room (Olmsted Center).

Reminder: Benefit enrollment forms must be received in Human Resources no later than 4:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30.

To schedule your screening, click here, and use the username DRAKEU and password SCREEN2015 to log in. Once you sign up, please make a note of your screening date and time, as you will not receive a reminder email.

If you need to cancel your on-campus screening, email jennifer.umphfleet@unitypoint.org with your name and date and time of cancelled appointment. You will need to re-register online for a new appointment. Changes can be made up to 48 hours prior to the screen time.

Signed up but don’t remember your date/time? Look at your received or deleted emails for an email confirmation sent to you by unitypointhealth.desmoines@gmail.com with the subject: Health Screen Confirmation.

Excellence in Learning & Development program now available

Take some time and peruse the 2015–2016 Excellence in Learning and Development (ELD) program! Within this program, staff and faculty have the opportunity to learn about a variety of relevant topics at Drake, including risk management, managing change, the generation on a tightrope, and the balanced scorecard.

Those who participate in these sessions and accrue eight credits during the academic year will be awarded the Certificate in Learning & Development and be recognized at a program in May.

The 2015–2016 ELD Program and registration form is available on blueView’s Employee tab, in the Learning & Development channel.

Drake benefit consultant, Mark J. Becker, will provide a history of Drake’s philosophy and approach to employee benefits, a comparison of current Drake benefits to benchmark data, and address the positioning of Drake’s plans for the future.

Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield will also provide a brief overview of the transition to CVS/Caremark. If you can’t make this meeting, two more presentations are scheduled:
