Throughout the fall semester, a number of political events will occur at Drake in anticipation of the 2020 Iowa caucuses. Organizations, including national media outlets, frequently employ Drake students on a short-term basis during their time on campus. Drake does not determine who will be hired for any specific event, but will provide interested students’ names and contact information based on the needs of the organization. If you are interested in working these events, please submit all relevant information online.

Scholarship information and opportunities session: Tuesday, Sept. 3, at 6:15 p.m. in the Drake Room located on the upper level of the Olmsted Center.

Do you want adventure, prestige, career opportunities? All these are possible with Truman (juniors) and Fulbright (seniors and above) scholarships. There is still time to find out about and apply for these wonderful scholarships/grants. The Fulbright application is due on Oct. 8 with a Drake campus due date of Sept. 20; and the Truman Scholarship is due at the beginning of November.

Come and find out more about these opportunities on Tuesday, Sept. 3, at 6:15 p.m. in upper Olmsted’s Drake Room.

Fulbrights are open to graduating seniors, and also to recent graduates who are not enrolled in a degree program at another school or university. They provide valuable international experience and funding for teaching English or working on projects or attending a graduate program in another country. Time is short as applications are due at Drake by the end of September, but there is still enough time to pursue certain Fulbrights such as English Teaching opportunities, so come to the information session and find out more.

Trumans are for enterprising juniors who are involved in U.S. government, politics, journalism or other meaningful community activities and who see a future in active community involvement. These scholarships are due in November, so there is still time to apply. These grants provide funding for graduate work in leadership and effective community involvement. Both Truman and Fulbright awards are nationally recognized scholarships and carry a lot of prestige. We hope you’ll attend the information session to find out more about these wonderful opportunities!

The eduroam (education roaming) wireless network is replacing DUStudent on Friday, Sept. 13. You must log into eduroam using your Drake email address, rather than your Drake ID number. This ensures that your credentials are passed securely anywhere you connect to eduroam. Additionally, you should set your laptop/cellphone to forget the DUStudent network when you switch to using eduroam.

Students, the deadline to add a class has passed, so this is a good time for you to check your class schedule and review your academic profile in MyDrake.

Use the “My Course Schedule” link under the Classes & Registration section to view your class schedule.

Use the “My Academic Profile” link under the Student Records section to review your degree and major(s), your classification (sophomore, junior, senior, etc.), and other curricular information.

If you have any questions about your class schedule or academic profile, please contact your college/school dean’s office as soon as possible.  If you are not sure to which college/school you belong, please email the Registrar’s Office at registrar@drake.edu.

Spending just a few minutes reviewing this information early in the semester may save you time and hassle at the semester’s end.

Drake undergraduate, graduate, and law students are admitted to all home Drake Athletics events for free. Tickets will be automatically added to students’ Drake card.

Students will receive a confirmation email from the Athletics ticketing partner, AXS.com, with notification that tickets have been loaded to their Drake Card. Once they receive the confirmation, they can head to the game and cheer on the Bulldogs. If a student does not receive an email from AXS.com, visit or contact the Drake Athletics Ticket Office at 515-271-3647 or tickets@drake.edu.
