The Iowa Refugee Summit, sponsored by the Refugee Alliance of Central Iowa, will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 15, at Drake’s Olmsted Center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This annual event is open to the public and brings community partners together to learn how to better serve Iowa’s immigrant and refugee communities. Attendees are often educators, health and mental health providers, direct support professionals, volunteer organizations, economic development boards, municipal/state officials, community leaders, and students. Session topics include health/mental health, employment, economic development, refugee resettlement and post-resettlement services, supporting ethnic community-based organizations, K-12 and adult education, legal/advocacy work, and much more! 5 CEUs will be offered. All are welcome!
