Students from the course, Political Economy of Globalization, will present on five issue areas in global trade policy that have been grabbing the headlines this year (automobiles, steel and aluminum, US-China trade war, NAFTA, and KORUS). Topics will include the relationship between the US auto industry and the global supply chain, the relationship between steel/aluminum and national security, the state of intellectual property rights in China, the prospects for passage of USMCA (the new NAFTA or NAFTA 2.0), and what lessons can be learned from the renegotiation of KORUS.
