Faculty and staff social Friday: Nominate a colleague who demonstrates Joyful Accountability

Please join us for the Provost’s Drake Social for faculty and staff on Friday, Oct. 19, from 4–6 p.m. at the FAC Arcade. This alcohol-free event will include a popcorn bar, cider, and soft drinks. It is a chance to relax and mingle with colleagues and enjoy Iowa’s fall weather.

This will be the first Drake Social to feature awards recognizing our new Core Values. Joyful Accountability will be the value spotlighted at the social. Three people, nominated by their colleagues who exemplify Joyful Accountability, will be drawn at random and honored, and they will be able to choose from a menu of prizes. It’s not too late to nominate a colleague. Please send the name of the nominee and a sentence or two describing how they demonstrate the value of Joyful Accountability, which is defined as striving each day to be their best, being creative and curious, brave, and bold.

This year, there will be two Drake Socials planned in our outdoor spaces, and both will be alcohol free. This Friday’s social at the FAC Arcade is the first, and the next outdoor event will be in May on the Ray Promenade.

In case of inclement weather, the social will be moved to the Shivers Hospitality Suite.
