Thank you to all of the students who took the time to take the 2018 ITS Student Phishing Quiz. We hope you learned more about how to spot potentially malicious emails and secure your digital life—and you all earned free tacos! Thanks as well to all those who stopped by the table in the Olmsted breezeway and spun the prize wheel.

We drew the winners for the 10 grand prize packages and they are:
Megan Miller
Molly McCord
Nicholas Matulik
Benjamin Williamson
Ivy Beckenholdt
Michael Paulson
Elizabeth Weyer
Taran Perman
Morgan Smith
Sarah Davis

Congratulations to all the winners! And, don’t forget, if you took the phishing quiz, be sure to stop by the Dial Center front desk during business hours (8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. M–F) to pick up your free Taco John’s taco certificates. We will mail certificates to everyone with an on-campus address.

We’d love your feedback on the quiz. Let us know your thoughts by emailing informationsecurity@drake.edu.

Dave G Spoken Word Poetry

Dave G is a Philadelphia-based spoken word poet, performer, and entertainer. His poetry is the tumultuous product of baptist preaching, hip-hop culture, and tireless introspection. He uses stages and poetry to spread messages of social justice, political consciousness, and self-love.

Before Dave G, there will be a group of student openers sharing their own poetry and perspectives.

All Mars coffee orders will be FREE for students during the show.

Join us on Friday, Nov. 9, from 7 p.m.–9 p.m. at Mars Cafe for a night of powerful performances, inspiring ambiance, and, of course, coffee.

Grants available to support service-learning

The Office of Community Engaged Learning is offering mini-grants to help support service-learning, both locally and abroad. Projects can be through a class, student organization/group, or as an individual. Proposals must be in partnership with a community agency. In the past, funds have been used for supplies, printing costs, food, and more.  Funding is awarded on an ongoing basis until depleted, so apply early! In addition, applications for the Olson Global Service-Learning Match Grant are being accepted. This grant is awarded to student global service-learning projects with faculty/staff support where funds or in-kind donations have been raised but where additional funds would be beneficial. View more information about any of these opportunities.
