Online summer AOI chemistry course

If you are in need of a course to fulfill your AOI physical/biological scientific literacy, consider registering for Chemistry for Informed Citizens, Chemistry 006, which will be offered online during Summer 2023 from July 5–30. The course description is shown below:

Chemistry 006: The main objective of the course is to introduce students to some important chemical concepts in chemistry and to emphasize practical applications of chemistry in real life situations. Students will learn about the important role chemistry plays in their daily lives and the effects of chemistry on society. In this course, we will not focus much on theories or rigorous mathematics to solve chemical problems.

Summer screenwriting intensive

Aspiring screenwriters (film & TV) can register for a unique one-week summer experience with Drake alum and Hollywood TV writer (’02) Eric Ziobrowski. ENG 198 is open to all majors who have taken at least one previous writing course. No instructor permission required.

Drake Cheer tryouts May 6

Drake Cheer tryouts for the 2023–2024 year will be held May 6 at 8 a.m. in the Knapp Center. The Drake Cheerleading Team consists of men and women whose primary purpose is to support Drake athletics and Drake University. The purpose of the squad is to boost school spirit, promote good sportsmanship, develop positive crowd involvement, and help student participants and spectators enjoy the athletic event. Drake Wellness: Be mindful, not mind full. Take a study break

Show your mind, body, and soul some love by taking a well-deserved break from studying. Join the Drake Wellness Team in mindful meditation and practicing breath work on May 5 (day free for study)! A few sessions will be offered throughout the day to work around being “Drake Busy.” We will start off with a morning yoga session to calm our minds and prepare ourselves for the beginning of the end. Working Worldwide deadline extended

Drake’s Working Worldwide program is open for 2023–2024 with an extended deadline of May 15, with an acceptance on a rolling basis. The Working Worldwide Program offers recent graduates from any academic background the opportunity to live and work in Kosovo working at a company, non-profit, or governmental organization for up to one year. Whether you are interested in gaining professional, international, or cultural experience, the Working Worldwide Program will work to find the best setting to help you meet your goals. Office of Admission is hiring student ambassadors

Applications are open for student ambassadors through the Office of Admission for positions beginning Fall 2023, with potential to begin this summer. Student Ambassadors share their campus experience with prospective students and parents during tours and student panels and assist with office projects. The paid position requires a minimum of four hours per week, with flexibility in scheduling. For more information, and to apply, click here.

Federal student loans for Summer 2023

Undergraduate and pharmacy students who wish to borrow federal student loans for the summer semester must complete the Summer Financial Aid Application.

Graduate and law students who are registered at least half-time (5+ credits) for summer and who have completed the 2023–2024 FAFSA will automatically be offered their federal student loan eligibility for the summer semester.
