Changing your major? Submit your change by March 26

If you are an undergraduate or pharmacy student who plans to make changes to your field-of-study and would like those changes take effect before registration begins, you must file your request to your dean’s office by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, March 26. Requests submitted after March 26 may not be accommodated until Wednesday, April 18.

For specific questions, including how to change your field of study, contact your dean’s office.

Student employment: Drake Relays ticket sales associate

The Drake Athletics Ticket Office is hiring seasonal, part-time ticket sales associates for the Drake Relays presented by Hy-Vee. This paid position is open to all Drake students, regardless of experience and/or field of study, although students interested in sales, marketing, and/or sports administration are encouraged to apply. This position requires approximately 3 to 5 office hours during the weeks leading up to the Drake Relays and 12 to 15 hours during the weekend of the Drake Relays. All training will be provided upon completion of the hiring process.

1 Million Cups Des Moines is taking a field trip to Drake. Dogtown After Hours

Attend Dogtown After Hours in the Olmsted Center on Friday, March 30, from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. Dogtown After Hours is a large-scale, collaborative, student-led event that aims to bring campus together in an alcohol-free environment. There will be free food and games, prize giveaways, student performances, and more. Everything at the event is entirely free. Last year there were over 1,000 attendees.

Anatomy Fashion Show April 10

The premedical fraternity Phi Delta Epsilon will host its annual Anatomy Fashion Show on Tuesday, April 10, in Parents hall from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The event, which supports Children’s Miracle Network, will include music, live performances, artwork for sale, and food. Please come and show your support for your fellow students and professors who will be modeling anatomical systems.

Residence Hall Association presents Siblings Weekend April 6 through 8. Siblings Weekend is an opportunity to welcome your brother and/or sister to Drake to experience life as a Bulldog. It’s an opportunity to catch up with your sibling(s), introduce them to your friends, and show off the University. You and your sibling(s) will have a chance to experience everything from athletics and arts to clubs and student activities, all in one weekend. Siblings must register to participate. Cost is $20. Deadline approaching to join Mentors in Violence Prevention

The deadline to sign up for the Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP) training is Friday, March 30. The MVP team is hosting a train the trainer event on Friday, April 6, from 4 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, April 7, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Contact prevention@drake.edu to reserve your spot.

The MVP program is a great opportunity for students to develop skills in presenting, networking, and community outreach. MVP inspires leadership and a sense of community by teaching individuals how to speak up and be an example for others when it comes to prevention and intervention. Peer educators receive 13 hours of training, serve on our full MVP team, and present the curriculum on campus. Membership is not limited to students—faculty and staff are also encouraged to join the MVP team.
