Drake University Head Start (DUHS) has been recognized for its efforts in Farm to School and Early Care. The program and staff who have led these efforts were celebrated during the 2025 Farm and Food Celebration on Friday, June 13, in Grinnell, Iowa. The DUHS staff were recognized during a community dinner and award (2025 Farm To ECE Program of the Year) program.  The Department of Education published a story featuring the award ceremony here.

In addition to this event, information about the program and the photos from the application submission will be shared at the 2025 Iowa State Fair, at the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship booth.  Staff are incredibly grateful for the amazing people who have led these efforts and found an opportunity to bring fresh foods and the joy of gardening to DUHS children and their families.
