A Principles & Priorities exercise to discover how challenging it is to balance the federal budget, and why it matters, will be held Tuesday, Oct. 10, from 7 to 9 p.m., in the Olmsted Center. Principles & Priorities is an interactive exercise in which participants will learn about the federal budget and discuss many of the policy decisions facing lawmakers today. Working in small, mixed groups, participants will review current federal spending priorities, tax policy, and entitlement reform options being discussed in Washington.
Faculty, staff, and students are invited to attend. Visit Eventbrite.com and search Principles & Priorities Des Moines to RSVP. The event is hosted by The Concord Coalition with support from the Drake College of Business and Public Administration, The Harkin Institute, The Robert D. and Billie Ray Center, and Vote Smart.
