Best Buddies will host Katie Meade, the first model with Down syndrome to be the face of a beauty campaign, on Thursday, March 2, from 7 to 8 p.m. She will be speaking during Spread the Word to End the Word week, which is a national movement to end the use of the ‘R’ word. She will talk about her experience with Best Buddies, her opportunities as a model, and how the ‘R’ word has impacted her. The event will be held on Pomerantz Stage in the Olmsted Center and is free for all students and the public. This event is a collaborative effort between Best Buddies, DAAC, Alpha Phi, and Student Activities Board. We look forward to seeing everyone!
